Family Wealth Research Series (Spring Release) – The multi-year Family Research Series is a rotating series on topics such as Next generation, Women and Wealth, Philanthropy and Governance.
The first study will begin with an in-depth study of the attitudes of family members across generations. The goal of the series is to identify characteristics that bolster or weaken the ability of a family to prosper and sustain itself generation after generation.
The inaugural research project will look at how the generations interact within families. Further, it will study how their attitudes toward the family and its mission compare and contrast, and how factors like these affect the sustainability of the family enterprise.
The study will identify cross-generational characteristics most likely to predict long-term success both among families that operate businesses and those that have amassed substantial wealth but no longer own a business. Those factors, for instance, could include variables such as commitment to the family's values, the level of trust and cohesion, the family's governance structure and its willingness to empower younger generations.
