The theme of our 2010 Multifamily Office Study (our 7th annual) is Back on the Path. MFOs are looking at steady growth with assets under advisement rebounding and more business opportunities opening up as private families seek new solutions to their wealth management needs. AUM at participating MFO firms grew by 8.2 percent to a total of 357.3 b at yearend 2009, with an average client relation ship size of $49.6m. Mean asset size was $4.97b, the median, $999.2m. The 2009 growth rate also masks significant differences in growth rates between small and large MFOs. Findings show that MFOs expect accelerated growth in the coming years. Valuable information on succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, challenges and expectations, business development, asset, client and employee-related data, what clients are asking for and the competitive landscape are all included in our 42 page report of the Study's findings.
